What is a Digital signature?
“Digital signature is a mathematical scheme to verify the authenticity of digital messages or documents.”
A valid digital signature, where the prerequisites are satisfied, gives a recipient very strong reason to believe that the message was forged by a known sender. And the message was not converted to Transit (Integrity).
Digital signatures are a standard element of most cryptographic protocol suites and are commonly used in software distribution, financial transactions, contract management software, and other cases where detection of forgery or tampering is important.
Uses of Digital Signature:---
Digital signatures are often used to refer to electronic signatures, which include any electronic data that carries the intent of the signature, but not all electronic signatures use digital signatures.

Digital signature employs Asymmetric cryptography. In many instances they provide a layer of verification and security to messages sent through a non-secure channel: When applied appropriately, a digital signature gives the receiver a reason to claim that the message was transmitted by the sender Message sent.
Digital signatures are in many ways comparable to traditional handwritten signatures, but properly implemented digital signatures are more difficult to create than handwritten types. Digital signature schemes are cryptographically based and must be implemented properly to be effective.
Digital signatures can also provide non-redemption, which means that the signer cannot successfully claim that they did not sign a message, while also claiming their private key remains secret.
Furthermore, some non-rebound schemes offer timestamps for digital signatures, so that even if the private key is exposed, the signature is valid.

Digitally signed messages representable as a bit string can be anything:
Examples include messages sent through electronic mail, contracts, or some other crypto protocol.
